Submission Details

Submission deadline is 4 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2009.  Entries received after the deadline, or received without registration and payment by the deadline, will be disqualified without consideration.

All Submissions Must Include the Following Material (Items A - D listed below):
A.  Descriptive Data

• Preferably 1 - 2 pages with the following information:

• Project Type (Specify Use of Building)

• Project Address

• Date of Substantial Completion

• Architect's Statement concerning design considerations, limitations, requirements, and solutions. Type of construction indicating materials, mechanical and electrical systems, energy efficiency, and other pertinent technical information. Special considerations such as accessibility, sustainable design, etc., and how these factors impacted the design of the project.

• Please name this file yourprojectname-submission.pdf.

• Site Plan of the project indicating the scale, compass orientation, and immediate environs and context.

• Floor Plan(s) of all major levels of the project. Indicate scale and compass orientation with section lines indicated.

• Provide at least one (1) section drawing or more, if necessary, to fully explain the project.

• Include at least two elevation drawings (of the main facades or project views) or more if necessary, to fully explain the project’s massing and design.

• Optional drawings may include three dimensional, perspectives, details, etc., again to fully explain the project's design.

• Please name this file yourprojectname-drawings&documents.pdf.

• The success of the jury process merits high quality photographs and AIA Indiana suggests using a professional photographer.  Color photographs preferred. 

• Please submit a minimum of five (5) to a maximum of ten (10) photographs of the exterior, including one (1) photograph of each facade and at least one (1) photograph that illustrates the project within its site and context. 

• Provide a minimum of three (3) to a maximum of five (5) photographs of the interior.

• If the entry is an exterior or interior only project, send a minimum of eight (8) such photographs. 

• The selected images may be of .jpg, .tif, .bmp, or other standard PC image file, or high resolution (300 dpi or higher).

• Please name this file yourprojectname-photos.pdf.

• Project Name (As it should appear on the Award)

• Project Address

• Architect and Firm Name and Address (Specify individual(s) or firm name or both as it should appear on the Award)

• Owners and/or Developers Name and Address

• Consultants Names and Addresses for Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Etc.

• General Contractors Name and Address

• Multiple Prime or Sub Contractors Names and Addresses

• Photographers Name and Address (be certain to identify photographer of each photograph as required by copyright)

• Typed Name and Signature of the submitting architect authorizing AIA Indiana to reproduce portions of the entry materials for promotional purposes.

• Project/Entry authorship will remain concealed from the jury during all deliberations.

• No distinguishing marks, symbols, trademarks or icons should be visible on any part of the submission.

• Please name this file yourprojectname-informationsheet.pdf.

Submitted material will be used by AIA Indiana in promotion of this program, and for publicizing the winning entries.

Additional copies of the award can be made for the project owner, contractor(s), etc. If additional copies are desired they can be ordered at cost through AIA Indiana. You can make arrangements with AIA Indiana for additional copies of the awards to be available at the presentation.
